Chris Maji drove
the #52 Charger at Lorain Speedway. He was sponsored by the Winking
Lizard in Lakewood, B & D Towing, Spencer's Towing, and Victory
Lane Marketing Group. Chris is from Cleveland, Ohio and raced in this
class for five years.
He is a 3 time Go Kart Champion with over 100 feature wins. He
has also been involved with racing as a pit crew member for Ed and Nancy
Spencer at Cloverleaf Speedway and for Mike Tiffe at Cloverleaf and
Lorain Speedway. He was the gas man for the Super Modifieds Team
of Randy Burch and also for Jeff Amsdell's ASA and Hooters Cup as well.
His interest in racing began with his father who raced Porche's
at Nelson's Ledges when he was a kid. This interest grew even stronger
when he would watch his Aunt Nancy and Uncle Ed race at Cloverleaf Speedway
and Lorain Speedway as well. That is where his experiences with
Mike Tiffe, Randy Burch and Jeff Amsdell got their roots. It also
gave him what he describes as his favorite racing moment, which was his
racing team winning their first of three 100 lap Emod races in 1996 then
going on to win the championship.
We can now include another favorite racing moment for him on August
21,2005. He finished second in his heat race that evening, then
went on to finish first in his feature, achieving one of his personal goals
set for himself this season. In September he raced at Sandusky
Speedway for their season's Calvacade, where he finished the 30 lap feature
in the top 10. He was very happy to finish the 2004 season in the top 10,
and looks forward to being an official at the track, waving the flag in the
flagstand.
Chris loves coming to the Lorain Speedway because of its location
and also because of all his friends. He would like to thank the
following people : Wes Shaver, Margret Buzas, Ma Curtis, and Herman
Carver.
