#2 Jeff Baker

Jeff Baker of Elyria, OH drives the #2 Grand National at Lorain Speedway.  Baker Racing Inc. owns the car, along with the #17 of Charles Hunt .  His sponsors include GRE, Wallace and Dewitt Racing Engines.  He's been racing in this class for many years, and has lots of other racing under his belt including:

1991  Sportstock Class
1993  Pro Racing Econo Sprint Series Rookie of the Year
1996  305 Sprint Car Racing
2000  American Race Trucks

He finished the 2004 season with:

* 405 total points
* 26th overall
* 2 top 5 finishes
* 2 top 10 finishes
* 5 feature and heat starts

Jeff has been racing for 18 years, and at the young age of 13, he was on many different pit crews including Gus Olexen, who won the Nationals at Sandusky in 1983.  He often has been behind the microphone at many speedways in Northeastern Ohio as well.  Jeff has had wins in such classes as sprints, grand nationals, emods, late models, and many other types of cars.  Jeff says "If it has wheels, I have raced it!" : )

His favorite racing moment was his first win on a dirt track at Buckeye Speedway in 1993 and his win at Winchester Speedway in 2000.  Jeff's favorite driver at the moment is Tigh Shaffer, who drives the #41 in the Grand National Class at Lorain Speedway, too.  Jeff recognizes Tigh's skill at such a young age and hopes to watch him succeed even further in his racing pursuits.

Jeff wants to thank his dad, his wife Jen, and his two sons Dillon and Jacob, along with all the Lorain Speedway fans that come out to support him every week.
