2004 Season Car

Tigh Shaffer drives the #41 in the Grand National Class.  He is from Columbia Station, and his sponsors include Doug Keyse of Clint Williams Realty, Clint Williams Realty, Bailey's Pizza House, and Primetime Limo. He began racing in mid 2002 in the Spectator Stock Division at Lorain when a friend of his gave him his first car.  Then he raced a full season in 2003 and won the track championship.  Then in mid 2004 he moved up to the Grand National Division.

He finished the 2004 season with:
* 1115 total points
* 14th overall
* 3 feature wins
* 3 top 5 finishes
* 5 top 10 finishes
* 11 feature and heat starts
* 3 heat wins

Congratulations to Tigh Shaffer for Rookie of the Year and Most Popular Driver 2004

In 2003 he won the Spectator Track Championship, and Most Popular Driver Award
In  2002 he won Rookie of the Year in the Spectator Stock Division

He has also raced at other tracks including Mansfield and Sandusky.  He has had some luck at other tracks.  He hasn't won a race but he has had several top five finishes.  Tigh has also raced go-karts at Mansfield where he finished 2nd in his feature. Tigh's father Paul Shaffer  raced at Lorain in the Grand National Division as well.  Paul raced the #40 Monte Carlo.

As for role models Tigh has two:  his father Paul Shaffer, and fellow Lorain racer Stacey Gerken.  Tigh hopes that by learning from them, he can make his goal come true.  His goal is to make it as far as he possibly can with a career in racing. Tigh's three most memorable moments have been the first feature he won in 2002 in the Spectator Stock Division, then in 2003 when he won the Spectator Stock Division championship, and finally, in 2004, where he won his first Grand National feature win.

Tigh loves racing at Lorain because of all the fans that come out each weekend and support him.  He also likes the short, tight racing.  He thinks the track can be improved, though, by increasing the purse.  He plans on coming back to Lorain for the 2005 racing season because he wants to win a Grand National championship.

He wants to thank all the fans for supporting him.  Also, his parnets Paul and Dorinda, and his sister Amanda.  Along with the Gerken family, Newman Racing, Harmon Racing, Lindsey, and last but not least, the whole Shaffer family.
