Andy
"Spongebob" McCall of "Bikini Bottom", drives the #32 in the Chargers
Division at Lorain Speedway. He
has been racing this class for six years. His nephews Brian McCall
and Kevin McCall also race at Lorain Speedway in the Spectator Stock
Division.
Andy won Best Appearing Car and Most Popular
Driver in the Spectator Stock Division at the 2004 Awards Banquet.
He graciously allowed his nephew Brian McCall
to use this car at Sandusky Speedway for the 2005 Spectator Challenge,
where hs competed to win a Pure Stock. Unfortunately, a hard hit
to the wall late into the challenge made than impossible to achieve, but
Brian still finished only 44 points behind the winner, and took home an impressive
second place.
Andy says his favorite racing moments were when he made his first
Fast Dash, and again when his son Andrew watched him win his first Heat
Race. His primary focus while racing is to go out and do the best
he can no matter if it's first place or last place, as long as he is having
fun doing it. He looks up to Dale Earnhardt Jr. and "The King"
Phil Rozum as his racing role models. Andy loves coming to Lorain
Speedway each week because of the fans that stay late and support him
every week, the joy of racing with his fellow Spectator Stock competitors, and of course
it's conviently located to Bikini Bottom !!
Andy would like to thank
the following people: His two nephews Brian and Kevin McCall
for helping him out with info, a special thanks to "Poppa Steve Jones"
and his big brother Pat McCall for their words of advice and support
, Stevie Jones, his Junior Pit Crew Andrew McCall Jr. and Jayme McCall....both
future race car drivers, and also "my fellow competitiors that helped
out all year long...too many names to list, you know who you are...THANKS!!"
