Modified
Class
Welcome
to the World of the Nascar Modifieds.
Only the front part of the frame
remains from the original street car. Everything else has been custom
built and modified. This is an open-wheeled class whose bodies are meant
to resemble compact cars such as Cavaliers, Gremlins, etc.
The cars use an 8 inch wheel base and racing tires. Modifieds also
are capable of using alcohol as fuel instead of racing gas. They weigh
about 1000 pounds less than a normal street car. They have automatic
or standard transmissions, 1-4 barrel carburetor, and headers are allowed.
This class receives accumulative
points and a cash prize for each heat race and feature race that is won.
